A landlord who tried to evict a tenant who was battling terminal cancer in China, saying housing prices were falling, has been at the center of the controversy.

According to local media Red Star News and Hong Kong media South China Morning Post, a landlord in Beijing, China, recently demanded a tenant who is a terminal cancer patient to leave. This is because if a tenant dies, housing prices will fall.

Initially, tenant Wang rented Jang's apartment, located near the hospital, for 5,500 yuan a month. The contract period was until mid-November.

However, on September 4, Jang put an eviction request on the door and asked Wang and his wife to vacate it within a week.

Jang, who learned after the contract that Wang was a terminal cancer patient, demanded his eviction due to concerns that if the tenant died, it could be reduced to a 'ghost house'.

Jang estimated that such a case could lead to a loss of 500,000 to 1 million yuan, saying that house prices could fall.

In addition, Jang requested that Wang and his wife sign a contract to compensate if the market value of the apartment falls due to the existing move-in.

The Wangs refused to sign, saying they would not leave the house unless they provided compensation for the termination of the lease.

The difference between the two sides is said to have not been resolved.

When the news broke, netizens said "The landlord is inhumane", "The landlord's position is understood as well.", "Isn't it a violation of prior notice if you didn't notify the end-stage cancer patient before the contract?" give a reaction such as
