With the activation of health checkups, early diagnosis and treatment of female cancer are being performed. Among them, breast cancer and ovarian cancer are diseases that rank first and second in the incidence of women's cancer in Korea, and the survival rate is steadily increasing.

However, it is necessary to check because aftereffects may occur during cancer treatment. In particular, if the limbs continue to swell, it is likely to be 'Lymphoma', so you should visit a medical institution for diagnosis and treatment by an expert.

Cho Jung-mok, a plastic surgery professor at Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital, said, "Lymphoma that occurs after surgery for female cancer such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer is a common but difficult complication to treat." "Temporary lymphadenoma may occur after surgery, and the swelling must be removed with proper compression and rehabilitation, but one in five patients progress to overt lymphadenoma that does not respond to compression treatment, which can affect daily life.", he explained.

Lymphoma is a disease in which lymphatic vessels are damaged or blocked and lymphatic fluid accumulates between tissues, causing the arm or leg to swell. In particular, if the armpit lymph nodes are removed during the breast cancer resection process or the lymph nodes are damaged during the postoperative radiotherapy process, the lymphatic system responsible for the circulation of the arm is damaged together, hindering normal circulation, and causing problems due to swollen arms or hands and sensory abnormalities.

Professor Cho said, `After treating female cancer, if the ring or shoes that fit well do not fit in, or if you do not return to your original state when you press your fingers hard on your skin, you may suspect lymphoma. Early detection and treatment of lymphoma can make recovery much easier, so if you have these symptoms, it is necessary to visit a hospital immediately to diagnose them,' he advised.

Professor Cho then said, `Lymph edema is fast and relatively simple to treat if treated early, but patients often treat it as a temporary blood circulation disorder and grow the disease. If you see early symptoms of lymphoma, please visit the hospital as soon as possible and consult with a specialist."
