In this internship program, a large number of domestic and foreign university students and graduates who are interested in the treatment of ophthalmic diseases and the global medical device industry applied and showed keen interest.
Korea Alcon conducted an internship program for participants in the internship program to experience practical work in the ophthalmic medical device industry for about 9 weeks and collaborate with experts from each department. Internship participants participated in major projects for each department according to a total of five jobs, including ▲ sales, ▲ marketing, ▲ education, ▲ personnel, and ▲ communication.
The final selected internship participants were given time to explore appropriate jobs according to their strengths and behavioral types by conducting a DISC behavioral type test before department placement. It also provided an opportunity for participants to further improve their understanding of Alcon and their duties before conducting the practice through pre-orientation time to understand Alcon's mission and business.
Since then, participants have strengthened their capabilities by directly collaborating with experts from each department through specific practical performances. In fact, the sales department had the opportunity to experience field practice such as ophthalmic surgery observation through field accompanying visits. In addition, participants who completed internships in the human resources department participated in planning onboarding projects, while the marketing department was able to participate in major projects of the job, such as researching market trends, deriving insights, and suggesting marketing programs. In particular, Korea Alcon hired about 40% of the graduates as full-time employees who will continue to develop their understanding and expertise in the field of ophthalmic disease treatment under Alcon's vision of `committed to the bright perspective of mankind.'
Lee Ji-young, Director of Human Resources Division at Korea Alcon, said "I am happy to be with future talents through this internship program and it was a valuable time to support their capacity development," he said. "Korea Alcon will continue to operate various programs based on its expertise to contribute to strengthening the capacity of young people with dreams and enthusiasm in the field of ophthalmic disease treatment," he said.
