The Korean Academy of Osteoporosis Medical Guidelines 2024' is published

The Korean Society of Osteoporosis History (Chairman Baek Ki-hyun) recently published 'Osteoporosis Treatment Guidelines 2024'. This new osteoporosis treatment guideline was first unveiled at the 27th osteoporosis training course held on August 25.
The Korean Academy of Osteoporosis is a multidisciplinary society involving osteoporosis experts in various fields such as internal medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, rehabilitation medicine, nuclear medicine, dentistry, and nutrition, and has published and continuously revised osteoporosis treatment guidelines since 2004. This is Korea's representative osteoporosis treatment guideline, and it has served as a bible most frequently referenced by Korean medical staff who meet osteoporosis patients at the treatment site. This is the 11th revision of the guidelines
'Osteoporosis Treatment Guidelines 2024' consists of a total of 34 chapters, and each unit consists of the introduction of osteoporosis, diagnosis, treatment, individual circumstances, and problems occurring during treatment. In this revised edition, due to the increase in diabetes, which plays a role in the aging of metabolic diseases, the increase in fractures is gradually increasing, and a unit on the importance of management has also been added. In addition, osteoporosis treatment targets have been newly organized as treatment targets commonly presented by many expert organizations. In addition, it updated bone density, bone markers, drug changes when treatment targets and treatment fail, glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis, and summarized the latest insurance benefits as of May 1, 2024, and included the problems of domestic insurance standards that are still insufficient in Chapter 34.
Chung Ho-yeon, chairman of the Korean Society of Osteopathic History's Guidelines Compilation Committee (Professor Kyung Hee University, Endocrine Medicine), said in a publication that `The Korean Society of Osteopathic History's guidelines aim to help the best standardized treatment by making it easy to use the latest medical information at the treatment site.'
