The Korean Society of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases (Chairman Chung Man-pyo) will hold the 'My Family's Lung Disease Story Handwriting Contest" on the 21st Lung Day. The lung disease essay contest, which marks its second anniversary this year following last year, was designed to convey encouragement and hope to patients and families fighting various lung diseases under the theme of the experiences patients and their families had in the course of lung disease treatment.
The application period for the 21st Closed Day Handwriting Contest is until September 19, and applications can be made by email and mail. The competition section is divided into two categories: lung disease patients, their families, and medical staff who treat lung diseases.
The reviewed award-winning work will be announced on the website of the Korean Society for Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases on September 26 and will be released later through newsletters and handbooks published by the Korean Society for Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases.
Detailed information on the handwritten contest can be found on the website of the Korean Society for Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases.
A total of 64 entries were submitted for the Lung Day Handwriting Contest last year. Woo Ji-soo in the patient's family category and nurse Kim Eun-jin in the medical staff category won the grand prize. The Best Medical Award winner 'Downpour 2023' was also produced on Insta-Tune to promote the importance of lung health.
Chung Man-pyo, chairman of the Korean Society for Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, emphasized that `This year marks the 21st anniversary of Lung Day, we want to share various stories about lung diseases through handwriting contests and raise awareness about lung diseases that can be targeted by anyone.'
Meanwhile, lung diseases refer to various respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), asthma, lung cancer, and pneumonia.
