Three out of five people said the government's increase in the number of medical school admissions had no scientific basis, according to a survey.

This is the result of a survey on expanding the number of medical schools for 1,000 people across the country for two days from August 31st, commissioned by the National Council of Professors of College of Medicine (hereinafter referred to as the Korea Medical Association) to Media Research (Wireless ARS, sampling error: 95% confidence level 3.1%).

According to the survey, 68.9% of the respondents wanted a gradual increase in the number of medical schools, and 61.4% said the government's increase in the number of admissions had no scientific basis.

65% of the respondents said that next year's admission quota should be adjusted to resolve the current medical situation. In addition, 64.5% said the current medical situation will worsen, and 67.4% said President Yoon Suk Yeol is not fully aware of the medical vacuum.

The Korean Council of Teachers and Education "Now even the people are calling for a change in the government's policy, including an increase in the number of admissions, is wrong. The government promotes that the emergency medical system is operating well and that only a few places are problematic, but the people are experiencing the pain and suffering experienced by patients and their families in the immediate vicinity."
