NCsoft unveils AI service based on open-source model 'Barco LLM'

NCsoft unveiled 'Lama-VARCO LLM', an open-source model-based tuning giant language model (LLM).
It is a tuning model that improves Korean performance by adding NCsoft's own technology to the open-source model 『Llama 3.1" and features small-scale-high performance, ranking first among the same-class open models with less than 10 billion parameters in the 『Logicor" benchmark, which specifies the thinking ability of Korean LLM, according to the company.
He also emphasized that extensive work compatibility is also a strength. 'Llama-VARCO LLM' can be used in various fields such as chatbots, QA (Qualification Guarantee), and natural language generation, especially for companies that need small-scale-high-performance LLM to support Korean AI services, NCsoft said.
NCsoft, which developed its own language model for the first time by a Korean game company, is constantly introducing cost-effective models that meet the needs of the market. In April, we introduced an improved performance 'VARCO LLM 2.0' that supports multiple languages, and this month, we unveiled an evaluation model 'VARCOJUDGE LLM' that verifies LLM performance.
NCsoft distributes 'Llama-VARCO LLM' to the AI platform 'Hugging Face' and provides it as an open source for the development of the AI ecosystem and free research support. In the future, we plan to continue to release open-source-based models for self-verification of AI technology and communication with the research community.
