According to Chinese media such as Jimu News, the Jizhou branch of the Tianjin Public Security Bureau recently arrested suspect Wang (male, 39) on charges of poisoning.

In the wake of a series of food poisoning accidents in the region, the police commissioned a medical institution to conduct blood tests on residents.

As a result of the test, rat poison was detected in the blood of the residents.

In response, the police seized and searched Wang's house and store, seeing Wang, who runs a grocery store in the area as a prime suspect.

There, police found the tools, syringes and remaining rat poison used in the crime.

In a police investigation, Wang admitted that he committed the crime by frequently ignoring and mocking the villagers when he was old but could not get married.

Residents who ate poisoned foods are being treated and fortunately, it is not a fatal situation.

Police are continuing further investigations.
