Professor Kim Yu-li of the Department of Psychiatry at Ilsan Paik Hospital in Inje University translated and published the `Cure Manual for anorexia (family-based approach, revised edition 2)' with clinical psychologist Oh Seung-min at Moseley Recovery Center.
This book describes how to treat eating disorders using family-based treatment. It is an essential manual for healers who meet anorexia children and adolescents.
The book systematically summarizes how to engage parents for their children's weight recovery and healthy eating, how to improve the parent-child relationship, and how to bring the development process of adolescents broken down by anorexia back into place.
Each stage of treatment is described by session and shows the process of engaging the patient and family members in treatment through an in-depth analysis of treatment cases.
It also clearly explains the research results and core concepts supporting this treatment, as well as the training methods of the treatment and clinical strategies for applying the treatment.
Professor Kim Yu-li said, `In family-based therapy, families, including parents and siblings, play a key role throughout treatment"Family-based treatment has proven to be the most effective treatment for adolescent anorexia, so we hope that this book can be used as a useful guide for the treatment of patients in our country."
Meanwhile, the authors of the book are Professor James Lock, a pediatric psychiatrist at Stanford University, and Daniel Le Grange, a professor of psychiatry and clinical psychologist at UC San Francisco.
