 Korean Horse Association President Joins Youth Gambling Abstraction Relay Challenge

Chung Ki-hwan, chairman of the Korean Horse Association, joined the 「Youth Gambling Relay Challenge」 on the 13th to raise social awareness about the dangers of illegal cyber gambling for teenagers.

The Youth Gambling Relay Challenge' is a challenge launched by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in March to inform teenagers of the dangers of illegal gambling and to prevent youth gambling addiction. Chairman Chung Ki-hwan joined the challenge by the designation of Gwacheon Police Chief Moon Jin-young.

Chairman Chung Ki-hwan said, "As of 2022, the size of the illegal gambling market is KRW 103 trillion, and it is spreading indefinitely based on online."In particular, adolescents who are familiar with online gambling are easily exposed to cyber illegal gambling and fall into gambling addiction, which is a serious social problem."," he said.

"Based on the Youcan Center, a professional counseling institution owned by the Korean Horse Association, we will support the healthy growth and safe protection of youth and fulfill our social responsibilities as a public company," he said.

The Korea Racing Authority has established a cooperative network with related organizations such as police stations to prevent illegal gambling addiction of teenagers, and is carrying out various activities such as a campaign to prevent gambling addiction by visiting elementary, middle and high schools, prevention education, and professional counseling. Meanwhile, Chairman Chung Ki-hwan recommended Yang Young-chul, chairman of the Jeju Free International City Development Center (JDC), and Kim Chang-man, president of the Korea Racing Authority, as the next participants in the relay challenge.
