Pigeon droppings caused the collapse of an auditorium at an education center in Thailand.

As a result, seven people, including teachers and students, were injured.

According to Thai media such as Kaosod News and Tairas, seven people were injured when part of the ceiling of an auditorium in the Yasothon area collapsed at around 10 a.m. on the 29th of last month.

A briefing session on the evaluation of educational institutions was being held in the auditorium of the regional learning center here.

Most of the injured were teachers and students, with bruises on their heads, arms and legs, but no one was seriously injured.

Videos of the situation at the time showed students and teachers sheltering outside the auditorium covered in dust.

Initial investigations by police and authorities estimated that the reason the ceiling collapsed was pigeon droppings.

It was found that the excrement accumulated on the roof of an old building became heavy as it ate water due to heavy rain during the rainy season.

Police and authorities are continuing further investigations and plan to carry out reinforcement work to prevent a recurrence.
