Smilegate Hope Studio Signs MOU With Green Umbrella and Kingmaker to Support Parents in Crisis

Smilegate Hope Studio announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Green Umbrella, a specialized child welfare agency, and Kingmaker, a support for parents of adolescents.

Kwon Yeon-ju, director of Hope Studio, Yeo In-mi, head of Gyeonggi-do Province, and Bae Bo-eun, CEO of Kingmaker, attended the MOU signing ceremony held at the Pangyo office building in Smilegate on the 4th.

With this MOU, the three organizations plan to support parents who are exposed to an environment that will abandon and neglect their children due to difficulties in pregnancy, childbirth, and raising for psychological, economic, and physical reasons. It also said it will create a community so that a healthy parenting environment can be established in the home and take measures to ensure that parents in crisis can live their lives in a safe state.

As the first start of the support project, it will set up base spaces in Jeonju and Daegu, respectively, to closely manage various cases, and support livelihood and parenting environments, career exploration and education, parenting coaching, and counseling.

Hope Studio has been implementing integrated and continuous measures to solve the child abuse problem since 2016, and with this MOU, it plans to implement full-fledged preventive measures. Kwon Yeon-ju, director of Hope Studio, said, "Hope Studio is a social problem solving platform that diagnoses the causes of social problems in blind spots and presents creative solutions. We will continue to spread hope for future generations with various partners such as public institutions, private organizations, and companies that sympathize with social problems in the future."
