Sep 12, 2024
Uijeongbu Eulji University Hospital (Hospital Director Lee Seung-hoon), which is in its fourth year of opening, announced on the 12th that it was found to be focused on emergency and severe cardio-cerebrovascular disease from the time of opening in 2021 to the end of last month.
According to Uijeongbu Eulji Hospital, over the past three years, 8,041 cases of emergency medicine, 6,288 cases of cardiology, and 5,114 cases of neurology were requested from cooperative hospitals in northeastern Gyeonggi Province. As Uijeongbu Eulji Hospital has been participating in the pilot project of the severe and emergency cardio-cerebrovascular state since this year, it is possible to provide prompt treatment when severe and emergency patients such as stroke and myocardial infarction in northern Gyeonggi Province are transferred and have made efforts to establish a network with local medical institutions.
In particular, an elderly patient in his 80s who was transferred from Namyangju Hyundai Hospital in July due to a major heart failure was saved after four hours of emergency surgery thanks to close communication with local hospitals as part of a pilot project for a severe and emergency cardiovascular network.
On the 1st, a woman in her 50s with heart disease complained of difficulty breathing and chest pain while hiking and was transferred to the emergency room of Uijeongbu Eulji Hospital by fire helicopter to regain her health.
Since this year, Uijeongbu Eulji Hospital has been visiting cooperative hospitals more than three times a week, focusing on forming ties with local medical institutions and strengthening co-prosperity. Activities are actively being carried out to establish a constant support system, such as discussing difficulties and cooperation plans when requesting medical treatment. Recently, education for working-level workers at cooperative hospitals and invitation meetings for hospital directors at cooperative hospitals in northern Gyeonggi Province were held on the 28th of last month, and education for 119 firefighters is also underway to strengthen the treatment of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases through the emergency room.
Lee Seung-hoon, head of Uijeongbu Eulji Hospital, said, "Since the opening of the hospital, we have made every effort to establish a medical infrastructure for the treatment of emergency and critical patients in northern Gyeonggi Province with the aim of improving the level of medical care. In particular, the treatment of emergency and critical cardiovascular diseases is comparable to that of large hospitals in other regions. We will continue to strengthen cooperation with 119 fire and paramedics and local hospitals and clinics so that local residents do not go anywhere else."," he stressed.
