A drug carrier trying to enter South Africa with more than 60 capsules containing drugs was discovered at the airport.

According to foreign media such as Mirror and Daily Star, South African police arrested a 30-year-old Namibian woman on charges of drug transport at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on the 22nd (local time).

Departing from Sao Paulo, Brazil, she was caught as soon as she passed immigration.

Upon receiving a tip that a drug carrier was on board the plane, police took an X-ray at the airport and confirmed that she had dozens of capsules in her stomach.

The stomach was filled with capsules that were round like bird eggs.

She was taken to the hospital and, under police surveillance, has so far released more than 60 capsules containing cocaine.

The police explained "The value of the drug cannot be determined at this stage because the process of taking out all suspected drugs from the suspect's body can take time."

Police Chief Pani Massemola encouraged the police who carried out this arrest operation and said "South Africa is not a playground for criminals and organizations. The police are doing their best to catch the felon," he said.

On the other hand, anyone who carries drugs hidden in their body like this woman is called 'Body Packer'. It is usually used to transport from Latin America to the United States and Europe.

In 2022, a man in his 50s, believed to be the first 'Body Packer' in Korea, was found dead, and it was reported that a drug bag in the ship exploded and died.
