An Indian woman underwent surgery to remove an iron rod about 60cm long from her body through the anus.

According to foreign media, a 65-year-old woman from Manipal, India, was taken to a hospital with a rusty iron rod embedded through her hip.

The medical team determined that the iron rod entered through her rectum and drilled a hole, extending to the space behind the peritoneum, the inner membrane covering the abdominal organs. What was fortunate was to avoid damage to blood vessels and organs.

However, he had to get antibiotics and tetanus injections to prevent infection. This is because the iron rod was rusty and covered with mud and livestock feces.

The medics removed the rod through a two-hour operation, and also treated 'perforated', a hole in some walls of the gastrointestinal tract.

Doctors explained that it is very rare to have an iron rod stuck through the anus, and that there was even no serious damage, which is close to a miracle.

According to her, the accident was reportedly caused by sliding after rain.

She explained, "'The cow brought to the field to feed the grass suddenly moved violently and fell off balance, and it happened because it flopped on the iron support it had erected to grow vegetables with its hips on it.'

After undergoing surgery to remove the iron rod, she felt some nausea and abdominal pain and was unable to walk. After about 10 days, I was able to recover my health and return home.

The treatment case was recently published in the `International Journal of Surgery Case Reports.'
