It has been reported that a famous hot spring spring in Yellowstone National Park, the world's first national park, has lost its natural color due to coins and trash.

According to U.S. media such as the Cowboy State Daily and the New York Post, the famous hot spring spring in Yellowstone National Park, 'Morning Glory Pool', was also called 'Napal Flower Hot Springs' in the past for its subtle blue color and unique conical shape.

However, the blue light was lost due to contamination from coins thrown by tourists wishing, various handkerchiefs, and garbage. Currently, it has a mixture of green, yellow, blue, and orange colors.

Yellowstone National Park historian Alicia Murphy explained "I threw all sorts of things because of the false belief that if people threw something into this puddle, the hot spring water would explode."

In addition, an expert who works at the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory said "Throwing objects blocked water holes, which caused hot spring water temperatures to drop, which led to the disappearance of its natural color as various bacteria lived."," he said.

As a result, Yellowstone National Park is periodically cleaning the hot spring springs 'Morning Glory Pool'.

It is done by mobilizing fire trucks to pump water and then the operator removes foreign substances.

An expert said "When cleaning up, hundreds of objects were taken out of here and thousands of tons of coins were taken out."

However, in recent years, unlike in the past, cleaning work has not been done frequently. This is because tourists' perceptions have changed and crackdowns are strictly carried out.

An official emphasized, "However, it seems difficult for hot spring springs that have already been contaminated to go back to the past. "Evidence that nature has been damaged by human greed."
