Balinsang Hospital (Hospital Director Seo Dong-won) reported that Yoon Young-sik (Orthopedic Surgeon) of the Center for Aging (Orthopedic Surgeon) was selected as an excellent research case at the '2024 American Orthopedic Foot Joint Association' held at the Vancouver Convention Center in Canada from September 11th to 14th, and published a thesis on the 'Comparison of Foot sole Pressure of Korean Combat Sneakers and Sneakers in Shoes' The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) conference is the largest international conference held in the field of foot joint, with numerous experts and world-class scholars participating and inviting influential international figures to give lectures every year.
At the conference, Director Yoon Young-sik drew attention from participants by presenting a study that revealed the relationship between increased foot pressure and foot pain through the comparison of foot pressure in shoes between Korean military shoes and running shoes. Grouping can cause increased plantar pressure and increased plantar pressure causes sole pain, which can cause musculoskeletal problems such as fatigue fractures and tendonitis. Based on this, it was suggested that understanding the plantar pressure characteristics of current military boots can help develop military boots and prevent damage to the lower extremities.

In the future, we will continue to apply various studies of hand-foot-and-mouth disease to actual medical sites and strive for better prognosis."
