The prop 'Iron Throne', which appeared in the popular American drama series 'Game of Thrones', was auctioned off for about 2 billion won.

According to CNN and other foreign media, a number of 'Game of Thrones' props, including armor, swords and weapons, and jewelry, were bid for a heritage auction held in Dallas last week.

More than 4,500 people participated in the auction, with a total of $21.1 million (about 28.6 billion won) traded.

Of these, the highest price was 'Game of Thrones' that the characters tried to occupy for eight seasons. After six minutes of competition, the winning bid reached $1.49 million (about 2.02 billion won).

The Iron Throne is made from plastic and finished with paint and jewelry decorations to give it a metallic feel.

In the drama, the throne was made from the breath of a dragon melting the sword of thousands of defeated challengers and was a symbol of the struggle for power.

Also, John Snow's signature sword 'Longclaw', wielded by Kit Harrington in the play, sold for $400,000 (about 540 million won), and his night watch ensemble with a heavy cape was sold for $337,500.

Meanwhile 'Game of Thrones' is a fantasy TV series produced by novelist and screenwriter David Benioff and D.B. Wice and aired on HBO based on George R.R. Martin's original 'A Song of Ice and Fire'.

Season 1 began airing from April to June 2011 and ended the 8th season in May 2019.

It was one of the biggest mega hits in HBO drama history, costing about $100 million each season.
