Oct 15, 2024

Bundang Seoul National University Hospital celebrated its 21st anniversary at the hospital auditorium at 4 p.m. on the 14th, declaring a new vision "Lead the Future, Enforcement Trust."

At the vision declaration ceremony, which was held with more than 300 faculty members, Song Jeong-han, head of Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, and representatives of various occupations, including doctors, nursing, and pharmacists, declared a new vision and vowed to internalize all faculty members.

Since declaring the vision of the `Hospital of the People Leading the World Medical Standards' in 2013, Bundang Seoul National University Hospital has established itself as a global hospital where overseas medical staff come to learn techniques by creating global results in various medical fields such as minimally invasive surgery and cerebrovascular surgery, and has successfully achieved its vision by distinguishing itself in the global medical community by obtaining the first HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7 certification in Europe and Asia and exporting hospital medical information systems to the United States, the Middle East, and Japan.

A new vision 'Hospital of the People that opens the horizon of a healthy future' means pioneering and expanding new ideas and possibilities for a healthy future for mankind and the people beyond getting ahead of world standards, and advocates the will to maintain its identity as a member of the Seoul National University Hospital Group trusted by the people and as a national central hospital.

In line with the five detailed visions for achieving the vision, the hospital specified the direction and goals of each field to respond to the rapidly changing medical environment by setting up ▶ the leader in advanced medical care (medical) ▶ the academy of future talent (education) ▶ the bio-health innovation ecosystem (research) ▶ the approaching public health (public health) ▶ the snubian (organizational culture).

Song Jeong-han, the head of the hospital, said, `If we have made efforts to stay ahead of global standards over the past decade, it is time to go further and redesign the future paradigm in terms of the health of the people and even humanity in response to the sudden changes in the medical environment.'"In addition to maximizing medical, education, and research capabilities, we will fulfill our responsibilities as a national central hospital as the importance of public medical care has increased due to a super-aged society and lack of essential medical care.'

Meanwhile, Bundang Seoul National University Hospital expanded to 1,300 beds in 2013, 10 years after its opening, and entered the ranks of 'Big 5'. Through various achievements, such as 1,000 cases of the world's first laparoscopic hepatectomy and proving the safety of the world's first laparoscopic gastric cancer surgery, minimally invasive surgery contributed to standard surgery. It serves as a mecca for the Asia-Pacific region in the field of high-level precision technology education such as microcerebrovascular anastomosis, and overseas medical staff visit hospitals every year to receive education.

In addition, in 2016, a large-scale medical research cluster 'Healthcare Innovation Park' was opened on 45,728 square meters of land, including the former LH headquarters office, leading the paradigm of advanced medical research in which industries (companies), universities, research institutes, and hospitals cooperate. In 2022, it is selected as the Seoul Metropolitan Infectious Disease Hospital and plans to build the largest infectious disease hospital in Korea with 342 beds covering Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Gangwon.
