A British woman in her 20s claimed to have suffered serious side effects while receiving treatment for acne scars from a 'beginner' operator.

According to foreign media such as The Mirror, Melia Nielsen, 24, of Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England, visited a skin clinic to treat acne scars and underwent a 75-pound microneedling (MTS) procedure.

When the pain appeared, she revisited the clinic and asked, "Have you ever taken medicine or replaced your product at home?"and put the blame on Melia.

She was bleeding from her cheeks, itchy and painful at the time," he said. Since then, the entire left cheek has swollen and turned purple.

Eventually, she visited the hospital's emergency room and was diagnosed with a chemical burn.

The medical staff gave water-based cream, saying it should be applied every hour for 10 days after treatment such as disinfection. Fortunately, he stressed that although he was not infected, if the swelling does not subside even after a few days, there is a possibility of infection, so he should visit the hospital again.

Later, she checked and found that the clinic operator had completed only two days of training.

She regrets " I don't want to take this risk again,' he advised "If you want a procedure, get it from an experienced person or after sufficient consultation.".

Meanwhile, microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that uses small, sterile needles to drill holes in the skin to promote smoothness and toning.

However, management before and after use is important. Face and needles used should always be used in clean condition. Otherwise, there is a possibility of skin infection or bacterial propagation, so caution is required.
