A video of a transgender woman in China who assaulted a man for insulting her at a restaurant has been released.

According to Hong Kong media South China Morning Post, a video of a woman throwing a man to the floor and hitting him in the head with fists and high heels was recently posted online at a Haidilao Hot Pot (Chinese-style shabu-shabu) restaurant in Hunan Province, China.

The perpetrator is Zhang Yan, who was born in Hunan Province, who reportedly underwent sex reassignment surgery in November last year.

Working as an online beauty influencer, she has 44,000 followers.

The assaulted man mocked the people of Hunan Province as "poor and ugly" and insulted her and threw food and trash at her.

Zhang Yan claimed that the man hit his temple several times with his phone.

Chang, who was angry, said he used violence against this, saying, `I have become a woman, but I can't stand ignoring my hometown.' She is known to have enjoyed martial arts and sports.

When the police were dispatched, the man apologized and explained that he had no intention of encouraging local discrimination, saying his actions were drunk.

Initially, the man was known to be from Hong Kong, but in fact, he was found to be an office worker working in Hunan Province.

When the video was released, netizens praised "He bravely stood up for his hometown's reputation."

Some compared it to the legendary Chinese hero 'Usong' who killed a tiger with his bare hands to protect others.

However, there are also voices of criticism, such as "Response to violence with violence brings more injustice and pain."

Later, Jang posted a message on social media, saying, `We both apologized to each other. I don't want people to call me 'Woo Song' and not focus on this case," he said.

He also emphasized that he reflected on his actions and opposed any form of violence.
