As a supplier of colorectal cancer MSI dielectric diagnostic products to the "Indian National Project"

Oct 21, 2024

Gaze Biomaterials, a company specializing in dielectric-based molecular diagnosis, announced that it will participate in the Indian government's national project to analyze molecular markers for colorectal cancer gene diagnosis.

The project, which will be joined by Sisabio, will be supported by the Indian Council Medical Research (ICMR), an affiliate of the Indian Ministry of Health and Human Services, and will involve faculty members from the Department of Surgery and Pathology at Shyam Shah in India.

The project will be used to assess the suitability of immuno-oncology drugs by analyzing the expression of microsatellite instability (MSI), the latest biomarker for colorectal cancer diagnosis, on cases of colorectal cancer in the Indian National Disease Database.

Sisang Bio will supply its own MSI diagnostic product (U-TOP MSI detection kit) for this project, and India plans to evaluate the microsatellite instability (MSI), which is essential for predicting the effectiveness of immune checkpoint inhibitors in colorectal cancer patients.

Based in New Delhi, ICMR funds and coordinates medical research projects across India. It provides advice to the Indian government on health and medical policies and monitors the occurrence and trends of major diseases in India. To this end, it operates several specialized research institutes across India and has cooperative relationships with various institutions such as universities and hospitals.

Xuamsha Medical University, which is working on a colorectal cancer MSI survey project with the support of ICMR, is one of India's oldest medical schools established in 1963 and is located in the city of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, located in the center of the Indian continent.

Since last year, the project manager of the medical school and the working-level staff of Shi'am Bio have been discussing how to supply the U-TOP MSI detection kit, and Xu's medical school has reportedly decided to adopt it in this project in recognition of the superior performance of Shi'am Bio's MSI analysis product.

Since the second half of 2024, Sisabio has been participating in the Indian national project as a product supplier for MSI analysis. The project has been going on for three years, and other public medical schools in India are also discussing whether to proceed with it further.

Park Hee-kyung, CEO of Siksa Bio, said "In participation in the Indian national project, MSI's excellence and public confidence were once again recognized."After the successful completion of this project, we expect to dominate the market as an essential diagnostic product for the selective administration of immuno-oncology drugs for the treatment of colorectal cancer patients in India"
