Chinese TV host Jin Xing, a famous transgender person, has been officially banned from performing in Guangzhou because of his support for LGBTQ.

According to Hong Kong media South China Morning Post, Jin Xing revealed on social media on the 22nd that he was scheduled to perform his classic play 'Sunrise' in Guangzhou in December, but had not been approved by the authorities.

Since its premiere in Shanghai in May 2021, the play has been well received in major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Xiamen, Suzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and Nanjing.

However, in Guangzhou, he was denied a performance.

In response, Jin Xing criticized the person in charge as 'abuse of public power', citing the real name of the person in charge.

Qin Xing emphasized "Please present the real reason for not approving it in official documents"Stop abusing power"

Then "We all live according to the same policy. Please answer why this play, which has been well received by audiences after touring the country for four years, was not approved in Guangzhou."

In response to the controversy, the employee explained in an interview with Modern Express on the 23rd that `the performance approval process is not handled alone, and the rejection may be due to incomplete application documents.'

In the performance industry and online, there is an assumption that the reason why the performance was not approved is because it supported LGBTQ people.

After the performance in Taiyuan on January 13, an audience member tried to promote LGBTQ human rights 'Love is irrelevant to gender' raised a rainbow flag with a message.

In response, Jean responded "I agree with you. Love is love, regardless of gender."

Since then, many have interpreted her actions as public support for homosexuality, which has led to netizens speculating that Guangzhou's performance has not been approved.

Meanwhile, Jin Xing, who has 14 million followers on Weibo, is known as China's first transgender entertainer and LGBTQ icon.

Born in Shenyang, northeast China in 1967, he underwent sex reassignment surgery in Beijing in 1995 and married German Heinz-Gert Oyttmann in 2005.

A year later, they divorced because of their children's family register problems and secretly remarried in Italy in 2018
