According to foreign media such as the New York Post, a rectangular blue object was seen near the Showa base, Japan's Antarctic research outpost, through Google Maps.
There are all kinds of speculations online about this.
One netizen wrote "A huge gate in Antarctica?It was estimated that " and another claimed "The plane door has flown away".
In addition, opinions such as "Alien's residence" and "Traces of Spacecraft" are also being made.
Bethan Davis, professor of glaciology at Newcastle University, noted the location where it was found.
He explained "The site is in a fast thawing area" and "The melting of the iceberg has been seen".
Professor Martin Sigert, co-director of the Institute for Climate Change and the Environment at Imperial College London, agreed with Professor Davis and wrote that "this is the flow of ice around solid subglacial obstacles, and it is also affected by melting and re-freezing ice, and by strong winds.'
