A U.S. doctor who drugged women and sexually assaulted them was sentenced to 158 years in prison.

According to CBS News and other local media, a Denver court in Colorado ruled on Stephen Matthews (36), a cardiologist accused of sexual assault on the 25th (local time).

He lured 10 women he met on a dating app home and drugged them with alcohol. Eight of them were sexually assaulted.

The victims and their families who watched the trial expressed their welcome when the court sentenced them.

According to trial records, most of the victims could only remember fragmentarily what happened after drinking with their doctors.

The victims testified that they were naked in bed with him when they came to their senses.

It also claimed that the defendant made 'gaslighting' as if it were the victim's fault if anything happened.

"He is a narcissist monster and a serial rapist," said one female victim.

The prosecutor said, `His crime is mean.' `I hope this ruling will give some comfort to the victims who have courageously stepped up and testified.'

Matthews' lawyer said "I will decide whether to appeal after discussion with the defendant."
