According to local media such as Jimu News, a delivery man threw a cat to death on the 26th floor of an apartment building in Changsha, Hunan Province, China on the night of the 25th.
He took a stray cat from the stairs of the building.
In the elevator CCTV footage, a man wearing a helmet was seen holding the cat's neck in one hand and riding with the food he was delivering in the other hand.
Just before getting into the elevator, a cat tried to escape, and a man fell to the floor.
Arriving on the 26th floor at the top of the apartment, he went to the rooftop and threw the cat, which lay motionless on the ground.
According to a resident who claims to have witnessed the incident, the dead cat was a cat wandering near an apartment, often fed by residents.
The resident said he heard a sound when he went out to pick up the delivery and saw the cat fall from a high place.
He "The delivery man was filming a cat falling into his smartphone," he added.
The cat died on the spot after the crash.
The food delivery platform company where the man worked immediately fired him.
The apartment management office and residents reported the incident to the police, who launched an investigation into the incident.
