The 42nd Marronnier Women's Essay Contest, supported by Dong-A Socio Group, ended successfully.

The Marronnier Women's Essay Contest, held at Marronnier Park in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 8th, is the most historic women's writing contest in Korea, which began in 1983 and marks its 42nd anniversary this year. Hosted by the Korea Culture and Arts Commission and sponsored by the Chief Cultural Foundation, Dong-A Pharmaceutical, Dong-A ST, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, it is being conducted to expand the base of the female literary population and revitalize literary creative activities. In particular, this year, it prepared 40 million won in prize money, which was doubled from last year, further strengthening the literary activities of female writers.

A total of 613 people participated in the 42nd Marronnier Women's Essay Competition with waiting, eraser, knitting, and performances. For each category, there were also awards ceremonies for 29 people, including 27 main awards and two special awards, including one manor, one excellence award, three incentive awards and four winners. Kim Do-eon (poetry), Kim Bok-ae (pronunciation), and Ko Hye-sung (children's literature) were honored in the manor.

This year, various cultural events were also held in addition to the writing contest. On the day of the event, the Arco Museum of Art held a 'Children's Eye Level Dorsent Tour' that allowed children to easily appreciate the work, and held literary lectures and autumn music concerts near the venue to catch the attention of citizens.

Dong-A Pharmaceutical received a commendation from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2023 in recognition of its contribution to Korea's artistic development and literature.

Dong-A Pharmaceutical President Baek Sang-hwan said, `Dong-A Pharmaceutical will continue to support pure literature and strive to become a healthy society where we can look at the world more objectively through writing.'
