According to CNN, Mirror and other foreign media, Ryanair's Boeing flight FR8826, which was running on the runway of Brindisi Pulia Airport in southern Italy, was grounded on the 3rd (local time) due to a fire on the wing. The plane, which was bound for Turin, had 184 people on board, including passengers and crew members.
As the flames spread with smoke, passengers and crew escaped safely through emergency slides.
The fire was contained without further explosions, but Pulia Airport was closed for about three hours due to the accident.
Ryanair said the passengers got off safely, and engineers are inspecting and maintaining the aircraft.
Two days before the accident, a Ryanair aircraft suffered a tire rupture while landing at Bergamo Airport in Milan.
The incident temporarily halted the arrival and departure of other flights.
Witnesses claimed at the time that it was caused by a 'mislanding', but the airline or airport did not reveal the cause of the accident.
