Game-related students - 'Giggs 2024', which serves as a bridge between start-up candidates and industry, will be held at COEX on Nov. 30
The exhibition 'GEKS 2024', a graduation work exhibition for game-related students, will be held at COEX E Hall in Samseong-dong, Seoul, on Nov. 30.

This event, which started in 2018 and is already in its seventh year, is a meaningful place to strengthen the base of the Korean game industry and discover future leaders. Hosted by the Giggs Organizing Committee, it is co-sponsored by industries in the field of gaming and digital content, including the Korea Creative Content Agency, the Game Industry Association, the Korea Mobile Game Association, the Korea Computer Game Association, the Korea Game Policy Association, the Korea e-Sports Industry Association, the Korea Digital Content Association, the Smartphone Game Developers Group, the Korean Cartoon Association, the Korean Cartoon Webtoon Association, and the Gamification Forum, as well as schools, research institutes and related government agencies.

This event can be said to serve as a 'climbing door' for future game and digital contents where young students, such as game-related majors and start-up candidates, present games, e-sports, webtoons, characters, animations, and AI (artificial intelligence)-related technologies. Giggs 2024 will consist of Demo Day and Awards, conferences, academic conferences, game jam, and K-Content college entrance briefing sessions as events to prepare for changes in the game industry, policies and systems, and discover future talent.

In addition, at the Giggs Awards, presentations and exhibitions will be held on works submitted in the areas of games, e-sports, webtoons, characters, and animations. Last year, more than 100 works from more than 20 schools were submitted, and this year, the scale of participation is expected to expand further. Through the screening, awards and prize money such as the Korea Creative Content Agency President's Award, the Game Talent Group Award, and the Giggs Organizing Committee Chairman's Award will be awarded, and mentoring opportunities for commercialization will also be provided.

An autumn academic conference of the Korean Computer Game Association will also be held under the theme of 'Game, e-Sports, AI Video, and Webtoon.' It consists of a 'new researcher research presentation' for game-related researchers (undergraduate, master's, PhD) and a 'post presentation' section in which all researchers can participate. Research topics include games, e-sports, webtoons, animations, digital contents, and AI convergence research, and the deadline is November 18, and excellent papers are recommended as KCI-listed papers and SCOPUS papers.

The global game development competition and festival 'Redbrick Connect 2024' will also be held with Giggs. The college students and general public section of the Global Game Development Competition (Game Jam) will be held online for 48 hours from November 1. The awards and exhibitions for outstanding works will be held together at the Giggs venue on November 30.

The Giggs 2024 event, which will be a gateway to discovering talented people and startups with passion and talent and a priming water for opening the horizon of the new game industry, will be free of charge through pre-registration of all programs, including exhibition booths and awards, conference entry, and job start-up matching.
