The rural visit bus is a project that provides direct medical services to rural residents who are vulnerable to health and medical care to increase access to medical care.
Gangbuk Himchan Hospital participated in providing medical support to farmers in rural areas who are vulnerable to joint and spinal medical care to help improve the quality of life of farmers.
Prior to full-scale medical service, Gangbuk Himchan Hospital plans to sign a mutual agreement with Gapyeong-gun National Agricultural Cooperative Federation to provide professional medical services for local residents' joint and spinal health, and continue medical service activities in the future.
At the event, more than 20 employees, including Jin Ho, head of the orthopedic surgery clinic at Gangbuk Himchan Hospital, and Chung Ki-ho, head of the neurosurgery clinic, provided medical support for 150 residents of Gapyeong County at a temporary clinic at Gapyeong Gymnasium.
In the field, physical therapy was conducted on residents by mobilizing treatment equipment such as air pressure, interference current, and transdermal stimulation treatment, along with X-rays, blood pressure checks, bone density tests, and medication provision.
"While rural areas are more aging than cities and have a higher prevalence of joint and spinal diseases than urban areas, many residents are in a medical blind spot where they cannot receive timely treatment due to low access to transportation and medical care," said Jin Ho, head of Gangbuk Himchan Hospital. "In the future, Gangbuk Himchan Hospital will not only continue to participate in rural Wangjin Bus, but also do its best to ensure that there are no vulnerable medical groups who are marginalized by various social contribution activities."
