Green Hospital Raises Fund for Construction of Jeon Tae-il Medical Center 'Opening of General Bazaar' Compensation

Green Hospital (Hospital Director Lim Sang-hyuk) hosted the Jungnang Committee of the Jeon Tae-il Medical Center and held the 'General Bazaar' sponsored by the Jungnang-gu Residents' Self-Governing Council on October 11th in the front yard of Green Hospital and Magpie Park.
The Green Hospital Bazaar began in 2003 to support the vulnerable and was held every year except for the past four years (2020-2023) due to COVID-19. Proceeds from the sale of the bazaar will also be used to provide medical support for the vulnerable and to fund the establishment of the Jeon Tae-il Medical Center.
The venue consisted of ▶ Affordable Market (selling donated goods) ▶ Food Market ▶ Experience Booth. The 'affordable market' sold high-quality products such as clothing, books, shoes, household goods, and home appliances donated by hospital staff, local organizations, and companies. In particular, the bazaar site was decorated with the value of regional win-win and environmental protection pursued by Green Hospital. Instead of plastic bags, eco-bags, shopping bags, and paper bags were used to reduce the use of disposable products, and events also used re-sale products such as discarded paper.
It also introduced Jeon Tae-il Medical Center and the 'ear-line' campaign through the 'Experience Booth' and held various events such as bookmarks and card wallet making. The Jeon Tae-il Medical Center is a 'worker's hospital' for working people and a 'social solidarity hospital' that is established by fundraising, and conducts a variety of public movements, including the 'ear-line campaign' to promote the health of the elderly who collect waste paper by tying waste paper into a string (ear-line). This is also linked to the Jeon Tae-il Medical Center's intention to treat society beyond hospitals that prevent accidents of waste paper collection seniors and care for patients.
Lim Sang-hyuk, director of Green Hospital, said "Just like 10 bowls of rice gathered together, we were able to finish it successfully thanks to many people who came one by one for the bazaar.""We plan to treat the vulnerable with all the profits collected now and add them to the construction of the Jeon Tae-il Medical Center to realize the true meaning of "Temporary General""" he said."
Meanwhile, Green Hospital is pursuing the construction of the Jeon Tae-il Medical Center with the aim of completing it in the second half of 2027. The Jeon Tae-il Medical Center is established in solidarity with the people's 'general' fundraising, such as treating vulnerable medical workers in time and studying the working environment by inheriting the spirit of sharing and caring of Jeon Tae-il, who saved money for the car and distributed grass to female workers.
