Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital, 2nd 'Walking Together to Protect Health & Environment Day'

On the 12th, Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital (Hospital President Han Sung-woo) held the '2024 2nd Walking Day' with local residents.
This competition is designed to practice ESG management by protecting both health and the environment through walking. The event was attended by Hwaseong Naraeul General Social Welfare Center (director Kim Jung-hee) and Hwaseong Dongtan Senior Welfare Center (director Choi Hye-wook), and 1,300 Hwaseong citizens, including hospital director Han Sung-woo, Hwaseong Mayor Chung Myung-geun, and lawmakers Jeon Yong-gi, attended the event. 1,300 people attended the first walking competition last year, drawing great attention from local residents.
Depending on the difficulty, the walking course was operated in three courses, starting from Naraeul and going to Gubongsan Neighborhood Park, Elephant Park, and Central Park Park, and other various experience booths and commemorative products were prepared.
The experience booth was divided into health booths and environmental booths, and blood pressure and blood sugar measurements, health counseling, CPR education, and healthy body making were conducted at the health booth, while environmental campaigns, experiences, and recycling campaigns were prepared at the environmental booth.
In addition, various traditional performances, band performances, and sharing bazaars were also held, and the entire proceeds will be used to support the underprivileged in the region.
Earlier on the 11th, as part of the walking day event, Professor Yeo Woon-tak of the Department of Family Medicine at Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital held a health lecture at Naraeul Learning-dong under the theme of "Lumbar Disc Symptoms and Prevention".
A local resident who participated in the event said, `I didn't usually have many opportunities to walk, but it was a rewarding day to participate in the walking competition that protects both health and the environment.'
"I hope this event will serve as an opportunity to recognize and practice the importance of health and environmental protection," said Han Sung-woo, head of the hospital. "It was a meaningful time to walk and communicate with local residents through cooperation between the hospital and the welfare center."," he said.
