Himchan Hospital Global Medical Social Contribution Activities 'Hard Sharing Medical Care' Free Artificial Joint Surgery Inviting Uzbek Patients
Oct 29, 2024
Two Uzbek patients invited to undergo robotic artificial joint surgery at Himchan General Hospital in Incheon on the 29th as part of the Strong Sharing Medical Center hosted by the Sangwon Medical Foundation Himchan Hospital.
The 'strong sharing medical care' is a global medical social contribution activity that cooperates with the Uzbekistan state of Bukhara to invite economically difficult Uzbek patients to Korea or to restore joint and spinal health by supporting detailed examinations and surgeries at Bukhara Himchan Hospital. Starting with the opening of the Bukhara Himchan Hospital in Uzbekistan in 2019, 13 patients have visited Korea or Bukhara Himchan Hospital through 'Powerful Sharing Medicine' to recover their health after surgery.
Two patients who entered the country on the 28th, recommended by Bukhara State, were hospitalized at Incheon Himchan General Hospital and underwent preoperative thorough examinations such as blood tests, echocardiography, CT, and MRI, and today Choi Moon-ki, an orthopedic surgeon, will conduct artificial joint surgery on the robot knee.
Patulaeva Mohira Mahmudova (female, 68), who is scheduled to operate on both knees, said "My knees started to hurt more than 20 years ago, and now I can't go outside and sleep properly every night due to extreme pain. I lost my husband and lived a hard life raising three children alone. Currently, I received grade 2 disability, but I was not receiving proper treatment, but I heard a miraculous news from Uzbekistan's Ministry of Women's Affairs that it helps me get free surgery in Korea. It's like a dream, and I'm deeply grateful."
Ochilova Jamila Rahmatovna (female, 55) "She is responsible for her livelihood by taking care of her husband and two children with Grade 2 disabilities. Knee arthritis came early, perhaps due to discomfort in the legs since childhood. Bukharaju recommended me, who is registered as a low-income person, and this time I will have left knee surgery in Korea. It's been a lifelong dream to walk comfortably on both legs, but I'm happy that my wish has come true. When I get healthy, I want to go on a pilgrimage trip, and I will always pray for the doctor who operated on me," he said, expressing his feelings of emotion.
After receiving systematic rehabilitation treatment after surgery, they will be discharged from the hospital around mid-November and return to their home country. Himchan Hospital plans to provide thorough follow-up services so that patients can receive continuous rehabilitation treatment at Bukhara Himchan Hospital after returning home.
Park Hye-young, Chairman of Himchan Hospital of the Senate Medical Foundation, said, "We will actively help patients recover their health with a sense of duty and sincerity to practice sharing through medicine to the underprivileged in vulnerable countries. We will do our best to raise the status of medical care in Korea and to spread excellence by resuming activities that were briefly slowed down by the COVID-19 pandemic.'
On the other hand, this 'Himchan Sharing Medical' will be carried out with partial support for surgery costs as Incheon Himchan General Hospital was selected as a participating hospital in the '2024 Incheon Sharing Medical Project' organized by Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization.
