On September 27, the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (Chairman Cho Hyun-jae) held an award ceremony for the "2024 National College Student Data Analysis Competition" to develop a model for analyzing correction data and prove it through speed-on experience.

A total of 56 people from 22 schools nationwide, including Konkuk University, Korea University, Kookmin University, Seoul National University, Yonsei University, Inha University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and Hanyang University, participated in the competition. The final screening and award ceremony were held for the teams that passed the preliminary round from August 15 to September 12. More than 20 people attended the award ceremony held at the Olympic Parktel in Seoul (based in Songpa-gu, Seoul), including Lee Sung-chul, head of the Korea Racing Authority, and the winning team of the competition (one grand prize, two best prizes, and two excellence prizes).

The grand prize was awarded to the 'KODE' team, which announced the 'Deep Wave' model that predicts the correction results using the GBC and Light GBM models, and they received the Sports Corporation Chairman's Award and the prize money of 2 million won. 'Opposite Misari', 'Hansando King of Gyeongjeong'Team (the best prize) and 'Insight Rider', 'Dodok'Team (the best prize) were awarded the President of the Corporation Award of KRW 1 million and KRW 500,000 respectively.

The 'KODE' team, which won the grand prize, also received the grand prize in the '2023 Race Data Analysis Competition' held last year, and this time, through the awards for two consecutive years, it proved the science of the race and the correction and showed excellent data analysis capabilities.

Participants of the team 'KODE' expressed their impressions, saying "The correction was more interesting because the factors to be considered in the race analysis were more diverse than other sports" and "We look forward to active analysis of correction data through events such as this competition in the future."

Lee Seong-cheol, general manager of the Gyeongnyeon Police Department, said "There have been two competitions related to the Gyeongnyeon data, but I think this is a meaningful event as this is the first time for the Gyeongnyeon Police Department.", and "I would like to thank college students for their interest in correction based on scientific reasoning through this competition."
