The Korea Racing Authority (Chairman Jung Ki-hwan) has selected 'Bitdolbaegi Village' (Bitdolbaegi Village) in Changwon City, Gyeongsangnam-do as a pilot project village for a theme rural experience recreation village at the end of 2024.

As a result of the evaluation team's written evaluation and on-site visit evaluation through a research service on ways to revitalize the horse experience of rural experience recreation villages conducted last year, the Beetdolbaegi village was finally confirmed in June.

The project, which will be piloted by the Korea Racing Authority from this year, will lead to an increase in visitors and revitalization of the rural economy through the distribution of horse-themed content to rural areas. The Bitdolbaegi Village, which was selected as the target village this time, will receive customized consulting such as horse specification management, as well as the Rural Win-Win Cooperation Fund, which the Korea Racing Authority contributed to the Korea Racing Authority.

Located in Uichang-gu, Changwon-si, Bitdolbaegi Rural Experience Recreation Village was designated as a farm stay village in 2007 and is the best village designated as a national important agricultural heritage (No. 17) in 2022. Bitdolbaegi Village, which is built under a stone garden called 'Bitdol', operates a variety of seasonal rural experience programs such as catching loach and picking sweet persimmons.

Bitdolbaegi Village, which has an impressive local and eco-friendly atmosphere that is perfect for children to run around, is already a famous healing destination for people who enjoy a farm stay, with more than 30,000 people visiting every year.

"Through this pilot project, we will support the operation of various and unique programs by incorporating horse-themed contents into the resources possessed by rural villages," a Korean Horse Association official said. "We will make efforts to contribute to stabilizing farm management by leading these activities to revitalize the rural economy, such as increasing visitors and creating jobs in rural areas."
