A study found that the maximum life expectancy of humans in the current environment is 150 years.

According to foreign media such as Daily Star, researchers from Singapore's biotechnology company Gero and the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, based in Buffalo, New York, studied the body's ability to fight diseases and human resilience.

The research team calculated the life expectancy by combining medical data of thousands of participants with artificial intelligence (AI).

Several factors, including age, disease, and lifestyle factors, were also substituted as variables. As a result, it was estimated that the body is excellent at fighting against disease infection, but its ability no longer disappears by the age of 120 to 150. At this time, if infected with the disease, there is little chance of survival.

The researchers gave the example of Jeanne Calmang, a French woman who died in 1997 at the age of 122.

However, the researchers predicted that the maximum life expectancy record would be broken by 2100 due to the development of drugs and treatments and lifestyle improvements gradually increasing.

Currently, a drug that can extend human lifespan by up to 200 years is in clinical trials. In response, the researchers emphasized that the development of life-saving drugs will take a long time.

Meanwhile, the world's oldest senior citizen is Tomiko Itooka, who is 116 years old. In August, Itooka was officially registered as the world's oldest person in the Guinness World Records (GWR).

The average life expectancy of Koreans in 2022 is 82.7 years, according to data from Statistics Korea. Women (85.6) are 5.7 years longer than men (79.9).
