An Indian Air India Express airliner was threatened with bombing attacks, and a Singapore Air Force fighter jet was scrambled.

According to the Guardian and other foreign media, Air India received an e-mail on the 15th that there was a bomb on the Air India Express 'AXB684' flight from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India to Singapore. Air India Express is an Indian Air India-affiliated low-cost airline (LCC).

In response, the Singapore Air Force dispatched two F-15 fighter jets to escort them. It was a measure to fly away from populated areas.

The plane landed at Singapore's Changi Airport at 10:04 p.m., about an hour behind the scheduled arrival time after a roundabout flight of about an hour.

Singapore police and military explosives handling teams completed security checks inside the plane and found no threatening items.

It is presumed that the e-mail was sent as false threats or mischief.

Recently, a series of false explosion threats have been made against Air India.

On the previous day, an Air India flight bound for Chicago from New Delhi, India, made an emergency landing in Ikaluit, Canada due to the threat of explosion.

An Air India Express flight from Jaipur, India, to Ayodhya was also threatened with an explosion.

On the 14th, an Air India flight flying from Mumbai, India to New York, USA, returned to New Delhi due to the threat of explosion.
