The 22nd Kuri Harabae Special Correctional Final, which boasts history and tradition, was held at Misari Police Station on the 17th. As it is a competition to commemorate Japan's top superintendent Koichiro Kurihara, who is called the "Father of the Korean Superintendent" and coached the first to third-term athletes directly at Misari Superintendent Station, all the players who participated were very determined to win the championship.

The preliminary round held the day before went as most expected. In the first preliminary round of 14 races on the 16th, Shim Sang-chul, who participated in the race after being assigned No. 1 and No. 2, and Kim Ji-hyun, a rising female powerhouse, ranked first and second respectively. In the following 15 races, No. 1 Kim Min-cheon led from the start and crossed the finish line in first place, followed by Kim Min-joon in second place.

Through this, six strongest players representing the Korean police officer were listed in the final round of the Kuri Harabae Special Correctional Final.

First of all, Shim Sang-chul, who regained his old momentum by winning the Media Service (Sports World Cup) in April this year and finishing second in the King Wangjung match of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation's Chairman's Cup in June, was assigned No. 1. No. 2 was assigned to Kim Min-cheon, who beat Shim Sang-chul in the King of the Board of Directors' Cup and won the title for the first time in 13 years. On top of that, Kim Ji-hyun, who won the May Queen Special Parliamentary Election in May and is currently considered the strongest female player, was assigned three times, Kim Min-joon, the winner of last year's Grand Prix, Jung Min-soo, the first-term veteran, five times, and Cho Sung-in, who finished second in last year's Kurihara Cup, was assigned six times.

Before the start of the game, the popularity ranking was Shim Sang-cheol, Kim Min-cheon, and Kim Ji-hyun, who were assigned No. 1, 2, and 3, respectively, and Jung Min-soo was fifth out of six players.

However, as soon as the long-awaited Kurihara Cup final was held, the results were completely different from the beginning. Thanks to the strong performance of the 19th motor, Jung Min-soo took the lead with a whirlwind stab that penetrated the gaps of No. 1 Shim Sang-chul, and took over the momentum and crossed the finish line first without giving up the lead.

Shim Sang-cheol, who had a pretty good start, also chased Jeong Min-soo fiercely, but had to finish second with a wide gap from the beginning. No. 4 Kim Min-joon, who did not lose his concentration until the last turn, took third place. On the other hand, No. 2 Kim Min-cheon and No. 3 Kim Ji-hyun were flat from the start and had to be pushed out of the prize.

Jung Min-soo's victory this time has a special meaning. It was the first big tournament win in nine years since the victory of the King of Kings Lee Jang-bae in 2015, and he has been playing for 23 years since 2002, but he had no relationship with special police officer Kuri Harabae.

In addition, the victory of veteran player Jung Min-soo is also significant in that he has built his pride in the first period. Since Lee Tae-hee won the Grand Prix in 2019, the names of the first-term players have rarely been found in the big competition, and this victory has shown the strength of the first period.

At the awards ceremony held right after the final match, Jung Min-soo calmly expressed his feelings, saying, `I think I won the championship because of the support of my customers.' `I wanted to win the prize by shaking hands in person at the competition where Kurihara, my teacher, came, but I'm a little disappointed that I couldn't.'

Meanwhile, Koichiro Kurihara, who currently resides in Japan, visited Korea every year when the Kurihara Cup special correction was held, but has not been able to visit the awards ceremony in person for several years due to health reasons. However, he sent pure gold medals to the six players who participated in the final, including Chung Min-soo, who won the championship, to encourage and celebrate the players.
