Oct 30, 2024
Mokdong Himchan Hospital (CEO Lee Soo-chan) has recently been designated as an advanced regenerative medical practice institution by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and will conduct research and treatment in related fields in earnest.
Advanced regenerative medicine is an alternative to severe, rare, and intractable diseases, such as cell therapy, gene therapy, and tissue engineering therapy performed using human cells to regenerate, recover, form, or treat and prevent diseases of a person's body structure or function. While the health care paradigm is changing from treatment to cure and prevention, a system for designating advanced regenerative medical institutions has been introduced to respond to international changes, secure technological competitiveness, and revitalize clinical research.
In order to implement advanced regenerative medical care, medical institutions will be designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare after meeting the various requirements for clinical research in accordance with the 「Act on Safety and Support of Advanced Regenerative Medicine and Advanced Biopharmaceuticals」.
Mokdong Himchan Hospital has been equipped with facilities, equipment, manpower, and standard work guidelines necessary for advanced regenerative medical activities, and recently received final approval as an implementation agency after reviewing documents and on-site inspection by the Ministry of Health and Welfare evaluation team in September.
CEO Lee Soo-chan "Based on his long accumulated clinical experience and advanced medical equipment, we have been striving to provide better medical services to patients. We will do our best for the healthy recovery of patients by focusing on innovative medical technology development and patient-tailored treatment with further enhanced capabilities through the designation of this advanced regenerative medical practice institution.
