There is a disease in which the incidence increases as the daily temperature difference increases. It is cardio-cerebrovascular disease.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's cardio-cerebrovascular disease statistics, the number of cases of myocardial infarction increased 54.5% in 10 years from 22,398 in 2011 to 34,162 in 2021.

Myocardial infarction is a heart disease in which the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart are blocked and blood is not supplied. Vascular aging progresses slowly from the 30s to 40s, and repeated exposure to bad lifestyle and metabolic diseases progresses intravascular arteriosclerosis and stenosis over a long period of time. Severe pain occurs in the process of cardiac muscle necrosis due to cut off or insufficient blood supply to the heart.

Cho Sung-wook, director of the Cardiovascular Center at Bundang Jesaeng Hospital, said "During the change of seasons when there is a large intersection, blood vessels contract and blood pressure tends to rise, increasing the risk of myocardial infarction. One of the important symptoms of myocardial infarction is chest pain, and even if waste accumulates in blood vessels, there are no symptoms when the degree of vascular stenosis is not severe enough to cause blood circulation disorders. He advised that if the intensity of pain is more than 70 points or the pain is more than 30 minutes, it is recommended to go to the hospital emergency room as soon as possible when there is no pain '0 points' and the pain as severe as death '100 points'.

The most scary thing about myocardial infarction is that no special symptoms appear until the disease progresses considerably. If you have a family history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, smoking, being overweight, lack of physical activity, and cardio-cerebrovascular disease, you should be particularly careful.

Director of the Center Cho Sung-wook said, `Prevention is more important than anything else in myocardial infarction, so we must stop smoking, reduce alcohol to not more than one or two drinks a day, eat blandly evenly, eat vegetables and fish, and exercise properly for at least 30 minutes every day as much as possible," he said.
