Senior actor Lee Soon-jae (89) will take a three-month break, canceling all the remaining performances of the play 'Waiting for Godot', which was appearing due to health problems.

The production company Park Company said on its official SNS on the 18th that actor Lee Soon-jae needed a three-month break from his doctor"We deeply apologize to the audience who waited for the performance."

Due to Lee Soon-jae's departure, the play will be performed only in episodes led by young actors such as Kwak Dong-yeon and Park Jung-bok. Kwak Dong-yeon will be on stage playing the role of "Young Kkondae Ester" and Park Jung-bok will play the role of "Late Newcomer Val".



Park Company confirmed additional performances by Kwak Dong-yeon and Park Jung-bok to fill the schedule that created a gap due to Lee Soon-jae's departure. Additional schedules were set for the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 30th of the following month. The production company said the two actors decided to take additional stages to reduce the disappointment caused by the cancellation of actor Lee Soon-jae's performance.

Lee Soon-jae previously canceled the performance on the 10th at the recommendation of his doctor, and later suspended the performance until the 20th after receiving the opinion that he needed more rest. However, in the end, it was decided to cancel the entire remaining performance schedule for recovery.



'Waiting for Godot' is a comedy play that homages the play 'Waiting for Godot', and Lee Soon-jae played the main character 'ester'. The work was well received by the audience, delightfully unraveling the communication and conflict between generations with young actors.
