Professor Kim Jae-gyu of Chung-Ang University Hospital elected president of the Korean Academy of Internal Medicine"Best to overcome difficult times"

Professor Kim Jae-kyu of the Department of Gastroenterology at Chung-Ang University Hospital was elected president of the Korean Association of Internal Medicine at the 2024 regular council meeting of the Korean Association of Internal Medicine held on the 26th.

The term of office is one year from the date of election.

Professor Kim Jae-gyu graduated from Seoul Medical School and served as a clinical lead professor at Chung-Ang University Medical School, head of Chung-Ang University Hospital's medical department, vice president of the Korean Society of Gastroenterology, chairman of the Korean Upper Gastroenterology and Helicobacter Society, and chairman of the Korean Society of Gastroenterology. In addition, he has played a pivotal role and achieved outstanding research achievements in the global development of internal medicine and gastroenterology in Korea by researching and developing international standard guidelines in patient care and treatment by serving as the policy director of the Korean Medical Association and the lead researcher for 「Standard Care Recommendation」.

Meanwhile, the Korean Academy of Internal Medicine, founded in December 1945, is an international academic organization representing Korea with the longest history and tradition in Korea, supporting active academic research activities by doctors, solving lack of policy support as an essential medical department, improving educational programs by shortening the training period for majors, and operating a system dedicated to hospitalization professionals.
