The 27th end of the photo contest 'Coming', received for a month in October

If you have a picture of the moment with a horse, why don't you submit it to the Korean Horse Association Horse Photo Contest.

At the end of the 27th photo contest hosted by the Korea Racing Authority (Chairman Jung Ki-hwan), the contest will begin accepting applications. The application period is from October 1st to October 31st, and can be applied online through the website of the horse photo contest.

The contest, which targets digital photographs taken directly in Korea and abroad after January 1, 2021, will select a total of 36 points, including the grand prize (prize of 4 million won). The total prize money is 18.5 million won. Photographs taken with high-performance digital cameras are likely to win a big prize, but there are 15 separate smartphone entries for photos taken with smartphones, leaving an opportunity for everyone to challenge.

The horse photography contest, which is the only contest for photographs based on 'horse' in Korea, began in 1979 and marks its 27th anniversary this year. The theme of the photography contest later this year is 'accompanied'. It is expected that works containing a partnership between horses and people and happy companions will be presented through the theme of this contest designed to promote horse welfare and spread awareness of animal welfare. In particular, the three works that best express animal welfare elements will be selected for the new 'Mal Welfare Special Award' this year.

Even those who have not yet made the work still have opportunities to film horses. The 88 Korean Horse Racing Association's 88 Horse Racing Station at Line 4 will feature a series of events related to horseback riding for the month of October.

On the 4th and 5th, horse races for retired racehorses will be held. On the 12th and 13th, the Youth Equestrian Championship, a stage for young horse-riding dreamers, will be held. In addition, the 52nd Korea Horse Racing Championship, the nation's most prestigious horse racing competition, will be held from the 17th to the 20th, providing photographers with an opportunity to capture the decisive moment.

In addition, Maru Park in Ilwon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seonbu Square in Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do, and Suncheonman National Garden in Jeollanam-do will hold free horseback riding experiences every Saturday and Sunday until November 3 to provide a special experience of the season of Cheongobari with horses.

A total of 36 points will be selected for the prize (prize money of 4 million won and listing), two for excellence (prize money of 2 million won and listing), three for horse welfare (prize money of 1 million won and listing), 15 for digital camera (prize money of 300,000 won and listing), and 15 for smartphone (prize money of 200,000 won and listing). Any Korean citizen can participate, and up to five works per individual can be accepted.

The received works are expected to be finally released in November through screening. The final selected works will be unveiled in December through an online and offline exhibition at the Horse Museum in Seoul's Gyeongju Park. More detailed information and reception on the 27th end of the photo contest can be found on the website of the horse photo contest.
