Korea Racing Authority announces implementation plan for horse racing in November 2024

The Korea Racing Authority (Chairman Chung Ki-hwan) announced its plan to implement horse racing in November, including 'Grand Prix (G1)', which can be called the flower of Daesang Racing. In Seoul, 110 races will be held for 10 days and in Pukyong, 70 races will be held for 10 days.

Starting with the 17th International Newspaper Cup (G3) in Pukyong on November 10, four grand prizes and two special races will be held in Pukyong and in Seoul. In particular, many fans are paying attention as the final gate of the Queen's Tour FW and Juvenile series, which have been running since September, is waiting for 'Bridders' Cup Queen (L)' and 'Bridders' Cup Rookie (G2)'.

The Grand Prix, which has been changed to November for the first time this year to lay the foundation for the seasonal horse racing system, will be held on the last Sunday of November. The annual representative horse and the best domestic horse will be selected based on the accumulated points until the 5th week of November, the end of the Grand Prix.

As Winnersman, who was crowned the representative horse of the year and the throne of the best domestic horse in 2022 and 2023, last announced his retirement from the Korea Cup in September, attention is being paid to who will be the new owner of the title of the strongest horse.

Of course, it is 'Global Hit' that draws attention. "Global Hit", which plays the eldest brother of the 'Global' corps and 'Hit' corps owned by Maju Kim Joon-hyun, has shown its unrivaled presence, recording nine times in first place, three times in second place, and one time in third place out of 16 games. In particular, she showed perfect chemistry with Kim Hye-sun, a female flag bearer, and 'swept' four grand prizes, including the presidential boat, this year alone.

This year, the Korean Horse Association has made changes that are close to innovation, including the first implementation of night horse racing twice a year, the official launch of online ticket sales, and the export of racing in the entire continent. Although 2024 is only about two months away, there are many horse racing officials who are sweating and burning their passion today, so it is worth looking forward to what famous scenes and true records will emerge for the rest of the year.
