 Korea Racing Authority to Hold a Council of Personal Information Protection-Related Institutions in 2024

The Korea Racing Authority (Chairman Jung Ki-hwan) held a '2024 Council on Personal Information Protection Related Institutions' at Let's Run Park Seoul on the 19th, involving major government agencies and public institutions' personal information protection officers (CPOs).

As the threat of personal information infringement targeting public institutions continues to increase, a total of 23 people, including the heads of personal information protection at 21 institutions, participated in active discussions to find countermeasures through cooperation between each institution.

We shared recent trends related to cyber threats and discussed effective cooperation measures through ▶ personal information protection measures in the personnel and labor sectors ▶ best practices for evaluating the level of personal information protection.




An official who participated in the meeting said, `It was an opportunity to share meaningful information through active communication between agencies and to agree that cooperation between agencies is important to actively respond to increasingly intelligent cyber threats.'

The Korea Racing Authority is responding quickly and thoroughly to cyber threats by establishing a dedicated organization in preparation for the release of online tickets, expanding information security and personal information protection personnel, and establishing an intelligent security control system.

An official from the Korea Racing Authority, which hosted the conference, emphasized the importance of information security and personal information protection as cyber threats evolve rapidly, and continuous communication and cooperation between public institutions through conferences are very important to enhance response capabilities.
