A shocking video of a tourist posing for a picture being swept away by a huge wave has been released.

According to The Mirror and other foreign media, Ronnie Yosua Simanjuntak (20), a male tourist, was missing on the afternoon of the 16th (local time) at Kedong Tombang Beach on Java Island, Indonesia.

In the video, Ronnie posed next to a coastal rock for a photo shoot. Ronnie's appearance disappeared as a huge wave hit behind the moment.

The friends who were taking pictures from a little distance were shocked and called out his name, but to no avail.

Ronnie, who is from northern Sumatra, reportedly visited the beach with 15 friends earlier in the day.

At first, the waves were calm, and some students enjoyed swimming, but after a while, the waves began to hit hard, witnesses said.

At that time, it is estimated that the height of the wave was about 2 to 4 meters.

Rescue officials said they were searching for Ronnie, who was missing, and that the search would continue until the 20th.
