The children are known to be a five-month-old baby and a nine-year-old.
According to foreign media such as the New York Post, New York State police received a report that a woman jumped with two children near the Niagara Falls Luna Island Observatory at around 9 p.m. on the 21st (local time).
They were found to have lived nearby. Police and rescue teams immediately set up a search team to find them, but have so far failed to find them.
The police estimated that the three people were killed. It was also determined that the woman jumped into the waterfall arbitrarily.
The woman who died was found to have worked as a domestic violence counselor nearby.
Through social media, acquaintances prayed for the repose of the deceased and their children and paid tribute, saying, `I can't bear writing about her and even sharing my memories.'
Meanwhile, Luna Island is one of the popular observation decks located above the New York side of Niagara Falls.
The area is open to visitors 24 hours a day, all week.
The death came a year after a woman jumped in with her 5-year-old son last year. The woman died at the time, but her son was dramatically rescued.
