A woman who suffered unprovoked orchest with genital pain was diagnosed with a rare disease.

A 35-year-old Turkiye woman felt numbness or stabbing pain in the genital region for 6 months.

The pain got worse and worse, making it difficult to sleep at night.

Since then, the stabbing pain has spread to the legs and arms and even felt a spontaneous orchest even without any irritation.

Feeling orchest didn't do anything to relieve the uncomfortable tingling.

Medical staff at Istanbul's Bacheshehir University Hospital who examined the women diagnosed 'Restless Genetic Anxiety Syndrome (RGS)'.

It is a rare condition similar to Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS).

For 'persistent genital anxiety syndrome', medics are considered to be atypical RLS symptoms characterized by genital sensory symptomsPeople with this condition may have a feeling similar to an orchest without sexual desire or stimulation. In addition, other patients may develop symptoms such as tingling, burning, or pain.'

Medics performed neurological examinations, abdominal ultrasound, pelvic MRI, brain and blood tests, but she was all normal and had no special underlying disease"Because the specific cause was unknown, I decided to try first with a drug commonly used to treat RLS."," he said.

The drug dose was gradually increased until symptoms were relieved.

The patient's current condition has improved and is under constant treatment monitoring.

"More research on the cause of the outbreak seems to be needed," the medical staff said. "However, it is presumed to be caused by physical stimulation or psychological stress and is mainly observed in women." The treatment case was recently published in the journal 『Cureus』.
