According to foreign media such as The Mirror, 'Crumbs (Russian name Crossick), known as the world's fattest cat, died of breathing difficulties at a weight loss clinic at a specialized veterinary hospital in Perm, central Russia, on the 26th (local time).
Crums once weighed 17.2 kg, but he lost about 3.2 kg by controlling his diet at the camp here. It weighs about three times as much as the average weight of a cat is less than 5kg.
The cause of death was presumed to be due to cancerous tumors hidden under several layers of flab.
Veterinarians said his flab was too deep to detect the tumor even with scans.
On a postmortem examination conducted on the 28th, Crums' spleen and lungs were covered with a tumor, which was not visible by scans until he lost some weight.
Veterinarians said the tumors caused multiple organ damage.
A shelter official said "Two days before his death, Crums was in the oxygen chamber in the hospital, but he had difficulty breathing. CPR was performed for about two hours, but I closed my eyes at the end. "The exact cause of death will be known only after further investigation.'
