Oct 03, 2024
Yonsei University Graduate School of Convergence Health and Medical Sciences was approved by the Ministry of Education last month and will open a new school as Yonsei University's eighth vocational graduate school.
The Graduate School of Convergence Health and Medical Sciences plans to cultivate talents who will lead the future health care industry by converging various studies related to health care and lead a new health care paradigm through advanced research and knowledge creation.
The Graduate School of Convergence Health and Medical Sciences consists of a total of seven majors and three departments, including ▲ BioHealth Policy Analysis Major and BioHealth Industry Management Major, ▲ Precision Medical Genome Dynamics Major, and BioHealth Data Science Major.
Biohealth policy analysis majors in the Department of Biohealth Industry study overall health care policies, including biohealth, policy analysis, and evaluation methodologies, while biohealth industry management majors learn various medical industry start-ups, management, marketing, financial accounting, and organizational theories.
The Department of Convergence Health and Medical Sciences consists of a precision medical dielectric mechanics major majoring in precision medicine such as dielectric, protein, and transcript concepts, as well as a biohealth data science major dealing with big data analysis, statistical programming, and data causality inference methods.
The Department of BioHealth Engineering is divided into various medical engineering fields such as metals, ceramics, and polymer biomaterials, a bioengineering major learning about preclinical and clinical tests of medical devices, a regenerative medicine major studying advanced regenerative medical technologies such as stem cytology and nanobio technology, and an aging science major specializing in aging.
The annual recruitment is 18 master's programs and 14 doctoral programs, a total of 32 students, and the first students will enter on March 1, 2025. The announcement of admission will be announced in October, and new students will be selected through interviews after November.
Lee Sang-gyu, chairman of the preparation committee for establishment, said, `The convergence of medicine combined with various disciplines such as engineering, policy, business administration, and data science is becoming an academic trend""We will produce convergent talents in healthcare that combine both theory and practice."."
